Linksys PAP2T Firmware upgrade complete guide, Step by step. Version 3.1.15 to 5.1.6
Probably your new Linksys PAP2T VOIP Adepter came with firmware version 3.1.15 and thinking to upgrade it to newest available firmware version. Its web GUI doesn’t have a place to upgrade firmware. We will be using “upg-pap2t-5-1-6.exe” file for FW upgrade process.
1. Old Firmware version before upgrade.
2. Downloading Firmware ZIP file
You can download firmware from Cisco website using following link
Or click this link to download firmware 5.1.16(LS) Make sure to download the firmware properly without any interruption.
3. Extract “PAP2T_v5.1.6_fw.zip” File and run “upg-pap2t-5-1-6.exe” File.
Once you run it will throw out a warning massage like below
Click Continue
4. Enter the IP address of your pap2t adepter.
under default configuration it will pick up an ip address from your dhcp server
How to find ip address of Cisco Linksys pap2t VoIP adepter:
Using analog phone connected to either 1 or 2nd Port
Press asterisk key 4 times ****
Adepter voice response will ask you to enter configuration option. Press 110#
You will here the current ip address of the voip adepter.
Enter the IP address you found from above step.
5. Once you click okay with correct ip address of VoIP adepter it will show you final message before upgrade firmware process
Click “Upgrade”
It will show you the progress of the firmware upgrade and will take around 1 minute to complete.
Click OK to finalize the upgrade process
Now you can login to the PAP Adepter and see the firmware vision on info page.
